United Ministry of Aurora (UMA) is fundraising through a memorial brick project. We have completed phase one and I was working on a searchable list of this first group. I stopped for a minute and reflected on my gratitude for this community.
My life is enriched by the communities I am part of, which include my neighborhood, UMA and some online communities like my Buddhist group and a Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Glens Falls, NY. Through these communities, I am nourished in so many ways. Living alone, I depend on my neighbors and friends to help me with projects needing more than two hands. I also love the everyday conversations. And, I like being able to help them with pet care. The rest of the communities I named are spirtually oriented, which matches my needs. One's communities connect with one's passions.
So, what are your communities? If you don't have any, why not? My daily life is enriched beyond measure from the support I get from the individuals in these groups and from the group energy as a whole. So, today, I express deep gratutude for them and how they nourish me.
