One of the most awe-inspiring events of early spring in this area is the stopover of migrating snow geese. The first time I saw a cloud of them over Lke Cayuga, I had no idea what I was looking at- I've only seen Canadian geese. As you can see, these arrive in large groups. When they all fly together, it is a sea of white.
Migration is an amazing feat. Imagine- traveling thousands of miles with thousands of others! Somehow knowing the path to take. Hanging out with so many helpers for protection.
What can we learn from the snow geese about community? Is independence over-rated?
