I went to a workshop through my seminary on writing tiny prayers given by Micah Bucey, pastor of Judson Church (judson.org). Here's a prayer I wrote during the workshop. It was written on the day Russia invaded Ukraine:
As the world appears to embrace violence as the solution,
hate as a way of being,
power as the ultimate accomplishment;
may I embrace peace as the solution,
love as a way of being,
cooperation as the ultimate accomplishment.
May I join others in the prayer for peace;
May I believe wholeheartedly in the poser of praying for peace;
May the people of this heartbroken world join hands and hearts in peace.
For, if we all spoke up for peace and love,
it would manifest.
